The Department of Neurological Surgery at Stony Brook Medicine is seeking highly qualified candidates for a neurosurgeon position at the faculty rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor. The neurosurgeon will join a multi-disciplinary University faculty practice at the only Level 1 trauma center in Suffolk County, New York. The candidate will partner with a neurointerventional radiologist and be joining a busy Cerebrovascular Center with a dedicated clinical staff of specially trained neuroanesthesiologists, Physician Assistants, nurses and radiology technologists. The Cerebrovascular Center has dedicated exam rooms, offices, conference room, and secretarial support near the neurointerventional suites and ORs. There is a dedicated Artis Zeego for research and training.

Required Academic and Professional Credentials: Applicants must have an MD, DO or MD/PhD, Board Certified/Board Eligible in neurosurgery with fellowship training or additional training/expertise in endovascular/interventional neurosurgery. Candidates must be eligible for NYS medical licensure. Preferred candidates will have at least 3 years of experience as an attending neurosurgeon and evidence of interest in clinical or basic research. We seek highly qualified candidates with excellent references.

To qualify for an appointment at an Associate Professor or Professor rank, the candidate must meet the criteria established by the School of Medicine (School of Medicine’s Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure).
